Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting an established specialist construction and engineering business with the recruitment of a Tekla Design Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client delivers complex structural projects across the commercial, industrial, and construction sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Tekla Detailer to support the production of detailed fabrication and construction drawings for a range of steel‑framed and multi‑material building projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced detailer looking to join a forward‑thinking organisation offering long‑term stability, varied project exposure, and career progression. There is a competitive salary of up to c£50,000, generous holiday package, private medical insurance and flexitime availability.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create and develop detailed technical drawings and 3D models for construction and engineering projects
  • Produce fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings in line with project requirements
  • Review design information, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure accurate project delivery
  • Generate material schedules and supporting production documentation
  • Assist with resolving technical design queries throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure drawings are issued, updated, and controlled in accordance with company procedures
  • Support project teams in meeting programme deadlines and client requirements

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience within a detailing, draughting, or design role
  • Strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures
  • Experience producing detailed drawings for construction, engineering, or manufacturing projects
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of fabrication, assembly, or construction processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively as part of a team
