Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading UK civil engineering firm. Due to continued upturn in production and a full order book, our client is seeking an additional Maintenance Engineer with a proven electrical bias to join their team. You will be contracted to 40 hours per week, working 2pm to 12am (midnight), Monday to Thursday. In return, you will receive a combined total salary of £48,824 (including shift premium). In addition, you will also receive a 6% employer pension contribution, 33 days holiday (including statutory days), sick pay scheme, profit share scheme, annual bonus scheme (based on company performance), cycle to work scheme, and various savings through salary sacrifice scheme.

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment.

  • Apprenticeship trained in electrical, electromechanical or automation engineering
  • 18th Edition qualified highly desirable
  • Confident in troubleshooting PLC controlled equipment
  • Proven experience working in a heavy manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experienced in maintaining and commissioning heavy plant production equipment
  • Competent mechanical maintenance experience
  • Confident working from technical diagrams without supervision
  • Experience working with CMMS/CAFM systems useful but full training provided

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of heavy PPM systems and plant machinery
  • Work daily with a range of electrical based systems, including inverters, motor control centres, single/three phase, control panels, distribution boards, lighting systems, sensors, and hydraulics
  • Troubleshoot PLC system faults on machinery and equipment
  • Support mechanical maintenance and repair works, including bearing, gearbox and oil filter changes
  • Work independently from schematic drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Ensure the CMMS system is updated daily with maintenance reports ready for shift handover
  • Adhere to strict Health, Safety and Environmental standards always
  • Work in line with LEAN manufacturing and group continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support workshop team with maintenance and repair work on mobile plant machinery including excavators and drilling machines

Job Location: Derbyshire, Swadlincote

Salary: c£48,824 per annum D.O.E
