Express Recruitment are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading sourcing specialists of heavy industrial equipment and castings. The client is keen to recruit an apprentice trained, Senior Technical/Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturing process improvement operations throughout the business. The contracted working hours are 37.5 per week; travel to China and other parts of Asia to visit client manufacturing facilities is expected (typically 3-4 times per year). Their UK facilities are based in Nottingham.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of fabrication, casting, tooling, and materials to aid QA process and ensure products are manufactured to specification and quality requirements.
- Ensure industrial casting parts and precision components have been thoroughly assessed and inspected prior to exporting to suppliers.
- Consult closely with customers to ensure any pending issues or queries are resolved efficiently and professionally.
- Coordinate risks and FMEAs with the Technical Director.
- Take ownership of the implementation of CSR policies within all factories to maintain and protect employee welfare.
- Prepare detailed product reports based on market research, identifying current competitor trends.
- Attend and represent the company at educational workshops and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of market changes.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities throughout the UK and overseas to assist with manufacturing process improvements.
Skills & Experience
- HND/Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Demonstrable background in product development and industrial manufacturing
- Proven knowledge of castings and heavy fabrication
- Good understanding of applying FEA/FMEA analysis
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings (CREO preferred; AutoCAD transferable); capability to modify 2D/3D drawings desirable
- Solid shopfloor experience with operations including milling, turning, grinding, fabrication and welding
- Flexible with UK and overseas travel; holder of full UK driving license and UK passport
