Express Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading organisation within the engineering and manufacturing sector, who are looking to recruit a proactive and analytical individual to join their project delivery team as a Project Planner. The successful candidate will have previous experience in project planning, scheduling or coordination within an engineering, manufacturing or rail environment, and take responsibility for maintaining accurate project plans, managing data and supporting performance tracking. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are measurable, controlled and delivered in line with agreed targets.
Skills & Experience- Previous experience in a project planning, scheduling or coordination role
- Background within engineering, manufacturing or rail environments advantageous
- Good understanding of planning principles and resource coordination
- Experience using ERP systems and planning tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management tools
- Proactive, reliable and able to support decision-making with accurate information
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans aligned with operational schedules and priorities
- Support planning and scheduling of operational activities to ensure efficient workflow
- Ensure all project and ERP data is accurate, up to date and aligned with plans
- Collate and analyse project data to support reporting and decision-making
- Prepare data for project reviews, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) inputs
- Monitor and track project KPIs, identifying trends, risks and performance issues
- Work closely with engineering, operations, procurement and project teams to align plans
- Maintain structured planning processes, governance and version control
- Support continuous improvement of planning systems, tools and reporting processes
