This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified audit professional with public sector experience to join a collaborative and forward-thinking organisation. The successful candidate will provide assurance, support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to high-profile projects that help strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls.
There is a salary of c£48,000 on offer plus hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 WFH) with the chance to play a key role in delivering risk-based audit assignments across a diverse range of services.
Skills & Experience- Experience delivering internal audits within a public sector environment
- Relevant professional qualification such as CIPFA, IIA, AAT or another CCAB-recognised qualification
- Strong understanding of risk-based auditing, governance frameworks and professional auditing standards
- Excellent analytical, report writing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines
- Deliver risk-based internal audit assignments from planning and fieldwork through to reporting and follow-up reviews
- Evaluate governance, risk management and control processes, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Provide professional audit advice and guidance to stakeholders across a range of service areas
- Support investigations, special projects and service improvement initiatives as required
- Assist in mentoring junior team members and contribute to the development of audit methodologies and practices
