Express Recruitment are delighted to be representing a Property Management company based in Leeds that are looking to hire a Maintenance Gardener/Caretaker on a full time, permanent basis to join their team. The successful candidate will ensure the grounds at residential and commercial properties are properly tended to by completing tasks including grass cutting, bush trimming, litter and rubbish picking, and caretaking. They will also test lifts, report and remove dangerous items, and replace electrical appliances.

Their ideal candidate will have experience with gardening, be very organised, have a general knowledge of Health and Safety, and have basic phone and app experience. Due to the nature of the role, a full, clean UK driving licence will be required to apply for the role. A vehicle will be provided as part of the role. You will be tasked with maintaining a portfolio of properties across the Leeds, Barnsley and other North Yorkshire locations.

For the position, the company is offering a generous salary of up to £15 per hour D.O.E plus company vehicle, fuel card, PPE, uniform and tools provided. Overtime available on occasions and call out bonuses.

  • Demonstrable Gardening experience across residential properties

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with landlords and tenants
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Travel to residential and commercial properties across the central Leeds and the wider North Yorkshire area
  • Complete general gardening and caretaker duties as and when requested
  • Cut and apply weed killer onto grass and lawn areas
  • Install and replace door locks
  • Paint and decorate indoor and outdoor areas
  • Replace domestic electrical appliances
  • Assist wider Trades Maintenance personnel with building services projects
  • Test lifts to ensure they are operating correctly and safely
  • Report and remove dangerous items in a safe and professional manner
  • Respond to emergency call outs on a rota basis
