Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a global construction consultancy who are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Building Surveyor to support them with a project on behalf of a reputable university based in the heart of Greenwich. This role will be an excellent opportunity for someone who holds excellent attention to detail and is looking to build on their existing Building Surveying experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete asset tagging of M&E equipment, including boilers and other associated equipment.
  • Survey and identify M&E assets across buildings, including plant rooms, labs, and other spaces.
  • Apply and record compliant asset tags to support statutory maintenance and lifecycle management.
  • Update asset registers and CAFM/asset management systems with accurate location and condition data.
  • Work collaboratively with estates, facilities, and contractors to ensure asset data remains current and reliable.

Skills & Experience:

  • Good attention to detail to ensure accurate tagging and avoiding errors in registers.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to conduct surveys across multiple buildings efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, coordinating with other departmental teams.
  • Good problem solver, handling unexpected access issues or identifying untagged/missing assets.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety whilst working around plant rooms, electrical equipment, and hazardous areas.

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM
  • Salary: Up to c£13.50 per hour D.O.E
  • Location: Greenwich, London
  • Job Type: Temporary ongoing for approx. 3-6 months, high potential to extend.
