The successful candidate will provide technical professional services to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents, businesses, visitors and employees in the authority; working with businesses to help them comply with their legal duties. Roles and Responsibilities: Provide high-quality, timely and accurate professional advice, guidance and information to a wide range of stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner. Deliver regulatory and advisory services in line with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and professional standards. Undertake a varied workload including inspections, investigations, audits, project work, complaint handling, evidence gathering and report writing, determining appropriate actions where required. Manage an assigned caseload, maintaining accurate records, updating systems and ensuring compliance with service standards and statutory requirements. Liaise and collaborate with internal teams, external organisations and stakeholders to support effective service delivery and minimise adverse impacts of regulatory activity. Contribute to service development through research, monitoring, training support, public engagement and continuous professional development, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice. Skills and Experience Required: Experience in a similar role. Successful completion (or imminent completion) of an Environmental Health/ Science degree or science postgraduate MSc course Fully qualified EHORB registered and eligible for Corporate Membership of the CIEH (EHO) Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills when engaging with a wide range of contacts, including colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public. Adaptable, has as a flexible attitude and is able to adjust to change in tasks at short notice.
