Express Recruitment are proudly supporting an established Engineering firm in their recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The role is predominantly based at their Head Office in Nottingham. Please note, although predominantly an office-based role, some travelling to customer sites may be required on occasions, therefore a full UK driving license and transport is essential.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive starting salary of up to c£60,000 plus 33 days holidays, internal training, free company workwear, enrolled pension scheme, free site parking and the opportunity to attend corporate events.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage budgets and payments from external stakeholders
- Liaise with Senior Quantity Surveyors on client sites and carry out in site surveys
- Consult with Estimating team regarding the preparation of tenders and detailed quotations
- Produce detailed cost analysis and breakdown reports
- Evaluate and identify potential commercial risks and present findings to Commercial Lead
- Prepare and present forecasting and budget reports
- Perform audits to help attain KPI's
- Report trends to improve efficiency on projects
- Identify commercial risks and produce reports
- Work towards deadlines and ensuring projects are being monitored
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred
- In depth understanding and experience working with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
- Fully competent with the Microsoft Office suite of packages including MS Project
- Experienced working in collaboration with Tier 1 Construction/Civil Engineering firms
- Previous project experience across M&E, Construction, Civil, Water Management or Environmental highly desirable
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to generate new ideas for continuous improvement
- Full UK driving license essential
