Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit Graduate Mechanical Engineer Consultants to join their specialist team on a permanent full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or those nearing completion of their degree who are keen to build a long-term career within the oil and gas and energy sectors, working on technically complex and highly varied engineering projects. The role will be tailored to individual strengths and interests with full support and development provided to promote long-term success.
In return, the successful candidate will join a forward-thinking organisation offering structured training, long-term career progression, and support towards Chartered Engineer status. The starting salary is £29k rising to £32k upon successful completion of the probation period.
Roles & Responsibilities- Carry out engineering analysis including stress analysis and finite element analysis
- Support delivery of pipeline crossing assessments and quantitative risk assessments
- Assist with fatigue, fracture and defect assessments
- Produce clear and accurate technical reports
- Support project delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics (2:1 or above)
- Strong interest in the oil and gas and energy sectors
- Knowledge of engineering software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS or CAESAR II is advantageous
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills with a positive team-focused attitude
