Are you someone who genuinely loves Employee Relations, enjoys getting stuck into complex people matters and has a passion for helping managers navigate workplace challenges? If you’re an HR professional who thrives on the detail, enjoys finding fair and practical solutions, and wants to become a true ER specialist, this could be the perfect next step for you!
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to strengthen its People Team with passionate and knowledgeable Employee Relations professionals. Whether you’re an ER enthusiast looking to develop your expertise or a more experienced professional ready to take on additional responsibility, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact across a large, multi-site business.
We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes ER! The successful candidate will hold dedicated Employee Relations experience, a genuine interest in UK employment law and the confidence to manage a varied caseload. You’ll enjoy getting into the detail, asking the right questions and ensuring every case is handled fairly, consistently and with the colleague experience at the heart of every decision.
You’ll be joining a collaborative People Team where knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement and doing the right thing really matter. There’s also an opportunity for a more experienced candidate to provide additional support and deputise for the team lead when required.
In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary of £42,000-£48,000 depending on experience, hybrid working with ideally three days remotely and two days in the office, and the opportunity to develop your ER expertise. A CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable but not essential, with support available for the right candidate to work towards their qualification.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an HR advisory or Employee Relations role, with a genuine desire to develop within this area
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with experience independently managing a range of employee relations cases
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and coach managers through challenging situations
- A naturally curious, detail-oriented approach, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A positive, proactive and collaborative attitude. CIPD Level 5 or equivalent is desirable but not essential, as our client is happy to support the right person in working towards a qualification
- Manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and workplace conflict cases
- Provide expert advice and coaching to managers, helping them handle people issues confidently, fairly and in line with employment legislation and company policies
- Support occupational health referrals, workplace adjustments, colleague wellbeing, long-term absence and organisational change initiatives
- Review and improve HR policies and procedures, deliver monthly ER training sessions, and promote best practice across the business
- Maintain accurate case records, monitor service levels and identify trends, working closely with the wider People Team. For the more experienced candidate, provide additional support and deputise for the team lead when required
