Express Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of one of the UKs leading independent heavy equipment manufacturers, who continue to advance the capabilities of our customers through innovation and expertise. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an attentive and experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring that products, processes and workmanship meet internal quality standards and stringent customer requirements.

In return, there is a salary of c£35,000 on offer, including 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), cycle to work scheme, employee electric car scheme, employee discount scheme, employee assistance program and the opportunity to trade further holidays. You will be contracted to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven industry experience in heavy engineering, plant or rail sectors
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • In depth understanding of welding processes
  • Familiar with or qualified to PCN, CSWIP welding inspection
  • NVQ Diploma/City & Guilds in relevant engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable knowledge of inspection techniques and quality tools

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of products, components, and assemblies
  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality standards
  • Identify, record, and report non-conformances
  • Inspect heavy fabrications, large castings and weldments using a variety of inspection and testing techniques
  • Conduct and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Update and maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
