At Express Concrete Ltd, a fast‑growing division within the Cappagh Group, we are expanding our network of BSI‑approved ready‑mix concrete plants across London.
We are looking for a strategic, hands‑on Financial Controller to join our leadership team at our Head Office in Wimbledon (SW17).
Responsibilities
- Full ownership of month‑end close, management accounts and group reporting.
- Managing and improving financial processes across multiple entities.
- Leading credit control, cash flow management and financial control.
- Commercial analysis including fleet costs, raw material margins and Cap Ex planning.
- Developing and leading our transactional finance team.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and finance skills, with experience managing general ledger processes and financial controls.
- Proficiency in financial statements and financial reporting, including preparation of management accounts and statutory accounts.
- Well‑developed analytical skills for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and supporting data‑driven decisions.
- Professional accounting qualification (e. g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience, with solid knowledge of UK accounting standards.
- Experience in industry or construction‑related environments is beneficial, including familiarity with cost control and project‑based finance.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel, with the ability to improve processes and reporting efficiency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with operational and leadership teams.
- Proven capability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced environment, prioritise tasks and maintain accuracy and integrity in all financial activities.
