The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts & Finance Executive to join a dynamic and growing business based in Woking. This is a varied role offering exposure across transactional finance, reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring accurate financial processing and contributing to month-end activities and business performance insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transactional Finance
    • Maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
    • Process supplier invoices (Accounts Payable)
    • Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis
    • Manage daily financial transactions within Sage 50
  • Customer Pricing & Commercial Support
    • Maintain and update customer pricing lists within Sage 50 and internal systems
    • Ensure pricing accuracy across all customer accounts and sales records
    • Support the import and validation of sales data, ensuring correct pricing application
    • Liaise with Sales and Commercial teams to update pricing structures, discounts, and customer agreements
    • Investigate and resolve any pricing discrepancies or invoice queries
    • Assist in maintaining margin control through accurate pricing and cost tracking
    • Support reporting and analysis relating to pricing performance and profitability
  • Financial Reporting & Month-End
    • Import and reconcile sales data into Sage 50
    • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
    • Assist with month-end close processes
    • Contribute to profit and loss reporting
  • Payroll & Administration
    • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll
    • Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and up to date
  • Analysis & Compliance
    • Support financial analysis and reporting to aid business decision-making
    • Assist with audit preparation and provide required documentation
    • Liaise with external accountants where required

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
  • Experience with purchase ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

Desirable

  • Experience supporting month-end processes
  • Exposure to payroll administration
  • AAT qualification (or working towards)
