Role Summary
The Event Manager will take full ownership of the planning, execution, and post-event impact of high-profile events for Exponential Science (ES) across the Web3 / DLT / blockchain / deep-tech ecosystem. This role requires exceptional organisation, stakeholder management, event-marketing expertise, and the ability to confidently deliver premium experiences in fast-moving, technically sophisticated environments. You bring initiative, operational clarity, and calm control under pressure — delivering events that create measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Event Management
- Lead all logistics and communications: venue selection, speakers, attendees, production/AV, travel, vendors, partners, contracts
- Shape event concepts and formats (theme, objectives, audience) through delivery and evaluation
- Manage detailed timelines, risk mitigation, vendors/staffing, and on-site execution
- Maintain real-time visibility of plans and progress across the ES team
- Event Marketing & Growth
- Deliver strong registration, engagement, and satisfaction metrics
- Analyse event performance and implement improvements
- Rally internal + external teams toward shared deadlines and outcomes
- Serve as the single point of accountability from conception → execution → debrief
- Liaise with senior stakeholders, sponsors, research leads — crisp progress updates, clear risks + approvals
- Budget & Finance
- Own budget and P&L: set cost plans, control spending, negotiate contracts
- Maintain premium quality while ensuring cost efficiency
- Reconcile costs post-event and archive learnings
- Ownership, Reliability & Detail
- Sweat every detail: logistics, timing, VIP experience, production, signage, hospitality
- Adapt calmly to last-minute changes — problem-solving in real time
- Propose new formats and continuous improvements
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years professional experience in event management (tech, Web3, fintech, innovation preferred)
- Proven track record delivering successful and high-impact events
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and cross-team coordination
- Thrives under pressure and shifting priorities — proactive accountability
Nice to Have
- Experience with conference technology (virtual/hybrid platforms, livestreaming)
- Understanding of event tech + CRM systems (registration platforms, analytics)
