Overall purpose of the job:
Exponential-eās Cloud and managed services are growing rapidly, with more customers adopting hybrid and multi-cloud strategies. The Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in supporting this growth by ensuring the delivery, reliability, and optimisation of Exponential-eās cloud and platform services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting, maintaining, and optimising cloud and on-premise platforms for multiple customers.
- Implementing automation, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Ensuring operational resilience through disaster recovery, backup, and monitoring processes.
- Assisting with security, compliance, and governance controls across managed environments.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across systems, networks, and data platforms.
In this role, you will collaborate with Cloud Operations, Consulting Services, and Enterprise Cloud teams to identify opportunities for operational improvements and automation. You will ensure that services integrate smoothly into the wider cloud portfolio and are aligned with customer requirements. You will also work closely with key technology vendors and internal teams to maintain platform stability, support operational initiatives, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of Exponential-eās managed cloud services.
Key responsibilities for this job:
- Support the deployment, management, and automation of infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and repeatable application and platform deployments.
- Monitor and optimise cloud consumption, supporting cost visibility and efficiency initiatives.
- Execute and validate disaster recovery procedures, ensuring RPO/RTO objectives are met.
- Setup and configuration of centralised monitoring tools and alerts.
- Deploying, scaling, and managing containerised applications using tools like Kubernetes for clients who require container platforms.
- Support patching, vulnerability remediation, and security incident response activities to maintain secure environments.
- Assist with the operational management of data platforms, including storage, protection, replication, and automation of data workflows.
- Manage network connectivity, firewalls, and SDN configurations, troubleshooting issues and supporting resilience improvements.
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support for Windows and Linux systems, managing updates, performance tuning, and configuration consistency.
- Maintain accurate system and configuration documentation, supporting compliance and governance requirements.
- Collaborate across teams to improve operational efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and reduce manual effort.
- Any other fair and reasonable task or duty assigned to you by your Manager, or other senior Exponential-e Ltd staff member.
Knowledge and experience required:
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (Azure and VMware).
- Strong understanding of automation, scripting, and configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Solid grounding in networking, identity, backup, and security principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across infrastructure layers.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and service delivery.

- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
