Overall purpose of the job:
The role is to manage a collection of accounts end-to-end, ranging from the collection of both aged/current debt, allocate where required and actively engage those responsible to ensure payment within terms.
Key responsibilities for this job:
- To engage and collect due debt across all assigned customers
- To focus on reducing aged debt to agreed KPIs
- To ensure accounts are managed to a good standing, including adding notes
- To take responsibility for the debt, chase internal departments where required
- Allocating receipts where required
- Log and redirect queries if required
- Manage interdepartmental relationships
- To follow set process for dunning, suspension and legal when required
- Any other duties considered appropriate for the role
- Any other fair and reasonable task or duty assigned to you by your Manager, or other senior Exponential-e Ltd staff member
Knowledge and experience required:
- Experience in a similar role, with a focus on collections from clients within the Public Sector
- Strong Excel skills
- Negotiation skills
- Must be PC literate and able to use standard software packages particularly Excel
- Strong customer services focus
- Responsible and willing to take ownership of work
- Experience working for an ISP or communications provider would be preferable but not essential
- Sharing responsibilities and strong team working capability
- Good communication skills are essential and must be able to work on own initiative
- Must be able to adapt to the use of non-standard systems, standalone databases and bespoke packages
