Opportunity for a Principal Structural or Geotechnical Engineer in the Civil & Structural Engineering Practice, London, UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a profitable and dynamic structural or geotechnical engineering consulting practice based in Exponent’s London office.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities and promote Exponent through typical business contacts.
  • Recruit, develop and mentor staff in the areas of structural or geotechnical engineering, failure analysis and investigation, and domestic and international dispute resolution.
  • Promote Exponent's expertise by meeting with potential clients, presenting at conferences, and conducting seminars.
  • Provide strategic consulting and expert witness work.
  • Bring advanced and insightful solutions to clients in recognised areas of expertise.
  • Provide project management and project budget oversight.
  • Develop and mentor staff in both technical and business areas.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant business development experience with a proven track record.
  • Outstanding professional reputation with a robust existing client base.
  • Significant experience in structural or geotechnical failure analysis, construction claims, dispute resolution, and litigation services.
  • Proven client management track record and ability to attract projects to support full-time staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Record of professional papers and presentations with a proven record of dedication to quality and accuracy.
  • Current chartered engineer (CEng).
  • Effective leadership skills with ability to positively interact with professionals, technical staff, and administrative staff.
  • Experience providing expert testimony in a dispute resolution setting.
