Our Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Engineer/Scientist to join our Materials Science & Electrochemistry Practice in London, UK. You will work as part of a team conducting hands-on engineering and safety consulting, failure analysis, scientific investigations, field inspections, laboratory testing, and collaborating with clients on product compliance and quality. Your long-term goal will be to develop business and acquire new clients.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting failure analysis and investigations
- Planning and executing laboratory tests, modeling physical systems, and analyzing data
- Performing field inspections and audits of manufacturers and suppliers
- Collaborating with clients to solve engineering, scientific, and safety issues across sectors
- Communicating effectively with engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and staff
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Natural Sciences, or related fields
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work within project teams and contribute actively
- Strong mathematical and experimental testing skills
- Knowledge of electronics and battery technologies
- Experience with laboratory analysis methods (SEM, CT, X-ray, TEM, EDS, FTIR)
- Familiarity with finite-element modeling (e.g., COMSOL, Ansys) is beneficial
- Knowledge of statistics and signal processing is advantageous
- Understanding of product standards and regulations related to safety and reliability is a plus
- High-level coding skills in Python, R, or Matlab are desirable
