The Employer is a fast-growing, multi-brand consumer retail group with a diverse portfolio across food, footwear and apparel segments. The business is entering its next phase of expansion, with new brand/store launches and entry into new markets. It is seeking a hands-on, commercially astute retail operations professional to take full ownership of retail operations and execution excellence across selected markets in SE Asia.

Role & Responsibilities

  • As the principal Operating Leader, the candidate will be fully accountable for end-to-end retail execution across a multi-brand, multi-store portfolio.
  • Translate brand and commercial strategies into disciplined operational delivery, ensuring consistent customer experience, strong financial performance, and operational readiness across all locations.
  • Work closely with Brand, Commercial, Finance, and HR teams, while owning store operations, visual merchandising execution, new store openings, and people leadership.
  • A strong on-ground presence is essential, with regular store visits and direct engagement with field teams.
  • This role is designed to professionalise, stabilise, and scale operations, allowing the CEO to step back from day-to-day operations.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Own retail operations and business excellence across all brands and markets.
  • Drive sales growth, productivity, and store-level profitability.
  • Lead flawless execution of visual merchandising, campaigns, and launches.
  • Deliver new store openings on time, on budget, and to brand standards.
  • Build scalable SOPs, controls, and operating frameworks.
  • Develop a strong retail leadership bench and high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will have 15-20 years of experience in multi-site, multi-brand retail or consumer operations.
  • Proven track record leading large store networks and new store rollouts.
  • Strong P&L ownership, KPI discipline, and commercial judgment.
  • Hands-on, field-oriented leadership style with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience in fast-paced, founder-led or high-accountability environments preferred.
  • Decisive, resilient operator who thrives on execution, sets high standards, and can balance brand nuance with operational rigor.
