Expo Technologies is hiring for a Junior Quality Engineer. We are looking for someone early in their quality career and keen to develop within a highly regulated industry, where quality is central to what we do.

As our Junior Quality Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and operational teams to lead quality investigations, analyse data, and ensure that quality standards are consistently met. You will assist in carrying out root cause analysis, supporting nonconformance management, gathering and organising quality data, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. You’ll help maintain documentation, participate in audits, and work with colleagues across the business to promote a culture of quality and compliance. This role offers hands-on development and support from our Group Quality & CI Manager. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, build technical quality skills, and contribute to meaningful projects.

Education and Experience

  • At least 1 year experience in electro-mechanical / mechanical engineering company
  • At least 1 year experience working with regulated products or within regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, automotive, medical device etc)
  • ISO9001 Internal Auditor certification desirable
  • One of the following, or equivalent experience: An engineering related qualification such as a BEng, HNC, HND; Level 5 or higher apprenticeship in an engineering discipline

What the job entails

  • Lead quality investigations with relevant stakeholders, using problem-solving methodologies to identify true root causes and ensure effective implementation of robust corrective & preventive actions
  • Support the technical services team by providing information to support customer queries & complaints. Generate RMAs and support inspection of returned items
  • Schedule, and conduct Internal Audits, in coordination with other members of the Global Quality Team
  • Work with the supply chain team to ensure Expo’s supply chain partners meet requirements, conducting audits on high-risk and poor performing suppliers
  • Conduct product inspection throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring customer requirements & build standards are met
  • Control and maintain calibration of all measurement equipment, keeping appropriate records
  • Analyse non-conformance, corrective & preventative actions, and report performance, findings and any themes / trends to the management team
  • Coordinate concessions where appropriate, reviewing processes to ensure corrective action taken where necessary
  • Liaise with the Qingdao facility to ensure consistent application of QMS framework at sister site
