Overview

You will tutor small groups in sessions with a 1:6 ratio, teaching children ages 4-16 across the national curriculum, 11 plus entrance exam and GCSE content. You must be able to physically get to the centre you are applying for. This role is suited to those seeking a long-term commitment to provide consistency and stability for the children you work with.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small group tutoring sessions (1:6) aligned to the national curriculum, 11 plus entrance exam and GCSE content.
  • Develop and deliver lessons using a tailored learning approach and the Compass learning tool to support member progress.
  • Build positive, lasting relationships with members and inspire a fearless approach to learning.
  • Support members as they progress through relevant curricula, celebrating progress and achievements.
  • Contribute to an inspiring learning environment through collaboration with the team and provision of structured development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Contracted to work at least 6 hours per week over 2 different days. Start times are between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm on weekdays.
  • GCSE or equivalent: grade 5 or above in Maths and English Language; predicted grades accepted if results are expected within the next 3 months.
  • Age 16 or over and the right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to travel to the centre.

Location and Pay

Kingston Upon Thames, UK. GBP £8.00/hr to GBP £12.25/hr. An additional 50p per hour is paid for working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.
