Join our team at Explore, a safety-focused specialist transport operation with typical earnings of approximately £54,000, paid breaks and ongoing CPC training. All drivers are allocated a dedicated state of the art Scania truck.

A C+E licence, valid CPC and tacho card are essential for Monday-to-Friday tramping.

SALARY: Approximately £54,000 per annum typical earnings + Benefits; £13.50 basic rate, rising to £14.00 after 18 months and £14.50 after 36 months; £14.50 night rate (6pm-6am)

LOCATION: Worksop, Nottinghamshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday tramping; typical earnings are based on a 50-55 hour working week with 2 additional weekend shifts every 3 weeks, plus driver allowances where applicable.

JOB OVERVIEW: This is a strong opportunity to join a safety-led specialist transport operation serving varied industries. The HGV Class 1 Driver will support reliable, efficient haulage while working to high road-safety and load-security standards. Working Monday to Friday on a tramping pattern, the HGV Class 1 Driver will use GPS and route information to meet delivery deadlines and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. With ongoing CPC training, upskilling and internal progression available, the HGV Class 1 Driver can continue developing within a team focused on safety, service and sustainability. The permanent appointment is subject to a successful probation period.

DUTIES: Your duties as the HGV Class 1 Driver include:

  • Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate the vehicle in line with traffic laws, road regulations and road-safety standards
  • Load Security: Load and unload securely and efficiently, applying appropriate securing techniques
  • Route Navigation: Read and interpret maps and use GPS navigation systems effectively to support timely deliveries
  • Delivery Planning: Organise journeys and time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
  • Communication: Understand movement orders and liaise clearly with colleagues and customers

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL:

  • Full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement
  • Valid Driver CPC
  • Valid tacho card
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and use GPS navigation systems effectively
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to understand movement orders

DESIRABLE:

  • Flatbed experience
  • Construction logistics knowledge or experience
