Our Transport division combines over 50 years of construction logistics and haulage expertise.

The role of the Transport Planner is to work directly with the Senior Planning Team to execute the daily plan effectively. You will be an excellent communicator in both verbal and written format and be pro-active and efficient in your dealings with the senior planning team. Within this role you will be required to autonomously achieve your goals with specific attention to customer service, driver liaison and ensuring all deliveries and collections are on time every time.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the Planning Email communication with senior planners.
  • Support senior planners with requested activity, to include contacting drivers or subcontractors, communicating plans to drivers/subcontractors (this list is not exhaustive).
  • Plan execution and communicating issues to relevant senior planner and customer services.
  • Debrief drivers to ensure actual times, trailer no’s and demurrage are recorded in line with expectations.
  • Support senior planners with driver hours and timesheet management.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Must have knowledge of TMS or demonstrate experience and systems knowledge.
  • Have worked in a planning function previously undertaking similar duties.
  • Ability to interpret and translate facts and information in order to explain situations and issues to people.
  • Ability to follow pre-defined steps, methods or approaches but with the ability to modify and adapt when required.

Qualifications

  • GCSE’s or equivalent in key subjects.
  • CPC (preferred).
  • Class 1 Licence (preferred).
  • Customer Service Level 2 or 3 (preferred).
