The Vacancy
This role is responsible for efficiently and profitably planning Flatbed fleet vehicles across the Explore network, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing the workload for a dedicated vehicle pool, maintaining effective driver relationships, and coordinating vehicle inspections and driver leave with the operations team.
The successful candidate will also coach and develop the planning team to drive performance and consistently meet KPIs.
Main Responsibilities
- Planning of allocated pool of trucks and drivers.
- Maintaining sufficient trailer availability to deliver the plan.
- Maximise vehicle utilisation.
- Close working relationship with allocated drivers.
- Liaison with the operations team.
- Coordination with wider planning team to ensure all jobs are covered and customers are satisfied.
- Coordination with the commercial team to ensure jobs are completed and invoiced correctly.
Skills/Knowledge
- Experience planning vehicles in a busy multi-site operation.
- Construction-related customer experience and the project sites. (preferred)
- Ability to build close working relationships with drivers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of the Transport Industry.
- Quick thinker with the ability to manage multiple activities into an overall plan while coordinating with other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- CPC.
- Coaching and Mentoring (L2,3) (Preferred)
- IAG (Initial Advice and Guidance L2,3) (Preferred)
