We are looking for an ambitious individual to support our centre, gain leadership, education, and customer‑service experience in a highly rewarding part‑time role, making a real difference in children’s lives.
What you’ll do
- Teach up to six children aged 4‑16 in small group sessions using the Compass learning tool, creating lessons that empower members to overcome challenges and progress.
- Build lasting relationships with students in a 1:6 ratio, inspiring them to be fearless in their approach to learning.
- Support student progress through the national curriculum, 11+ entrance exam, and GCSE preparation, celebrating achievements along the way.
- Serve as the main contact for parents and guardians, confidently answering queries, using problem‑solving skills to deliver excellent service and ensure smooth centre operations.
- Lead and inspire peers, supporting them with any questions and backing them in carrying out their duties.
- Ensure safeguarding and safety, keeping children in your care safe and being trusted to open and close the centre.
- Attend to additional responsibilities such as opening, closing, and maintaining centre safety as required.
Qualifications
- Grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Age 18 or over with the right to work in the UK.
- Ability to physically attend the centre you are applying for and a willingness to travel to another centre if required.
- Long‑term commitment to support the same children, ensuring consistency and stability.
- Commitment to work at least 6 hours a week across at least 2 different days.
- Availability to work additional responsibilities around 2–3 pm on specified days.
Pay & Perks
- Base pay: 18‑20 £10.05 per hour; 21+ £12.25 per hour.
- Additional 50p per hour if working at a centre inside the M25.
- Hourly pay increased by £2 for additional responsibilities.
- Perks include 50% off Explore Learning membership fees for immediate relatives, referral bonuses (£50 for every referred tutor, £500 for every referred supervisor/manager), payroll giving scheme, enhanced parental packages, mortgage broker service, pension matching scheme, and staff network benefits.
Legal & Application Notes
All successful applicants will undertake employment reference checks, a Disclosure & Barring Service check or a Police Vetting Group check.
