We are looking for enthusiastic tutors to lead small-group and individual lessons using our smart learning platform, Compass.
This is a permanent, part‑time, on‑site role based at our West Hampstead centre.
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured lessons to small groups (1:6) and individuals, facilitating learning through questioning, scaffolding, and stretching.
- Build trusting relationships with children and provide a safe, encouraging environment.
- Support learners in the national curriculum, 11+ entrance examinations and GCSE preparation, celebrating progress and milestones.
- Use Compass to adapt instruction in real time and record progress.
Qualifications
- Confident leading sessions with small groups.
- Ability to manage positive behaviour and prioritise safety and wellbeing.
- Comfortable teaching children aged 4–16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ and GCSE content.
- Committed to building long‑term relationships with learners.
Requirements
- Age 16 or over with the right to work in the UK.
- Achieved grade 6 or above in Maths and English at GCSE level (predicted grades acceptable if results are due within three months).
- Provide full employment history with clear explanations for any gaps.
- Undergo Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory reference checks.
- No sponsorship will be offered.
- Position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
- Logistics
- Location: West Hampstead, on‑site.
- Contract: Permanent, part‑time, minimum 6 hours per week over at least 2 weekdays.
- Typical shift start times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3:30–4pm; Saturday morning/afternoon.
- Pay & Progression
- Base hourly rate (per age group): under 18 – £8.40, 18–20 – £10.90, 21+ – £12.75.
- Additional £0.50 per hour for work inside the M25.
- Annual progression based on hours tutored.
