Overview
Explore Learning is seeking a Maths and English Tutor for its Leeds Crown Point centre.
This full‑time on‑site role offers extensive opportunities for career growth and the chance to support children from age 4 to 16.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored lessons using the Compass learning platform, facilitating learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with students, creating a safe and inspiring learning environment.
- Drive academic progress by supporting pupils through the national curriculum, 11+ entrance exams and GCSE preparation.
- Lead small group sessions (1:6 ratio) with positive behaviour management and a focus on safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Age 16 or over and right to work in the UK.
- Grade 6 or above in Maths and English Language at GCSE level (predicted grades accepted if results within the next 3 months).
- Comfortable working with children aged 4–16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content.
- Committed to building long‑term relationships, providing consistency and stability.
- Confidence leading small group sessions and managing behaviour.
- Ability to prioritise safety and wellbeing.
- Logistics and Compensation
- Location – on‑site at Leeds Crown Point centre.
- Contract – permanent, part‑time; minimum 6 hours per week across at least two weekdays.
- Shift times – 3:30‑4pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and morning/afternoon Saturday.
- Pay – base hourly rate: £8.40 (under 18), £10.90 (18‑20), £12.75 (21+). Additional £0.50 per hour if working within the M25. Pay may increase annually based on hours tutored.
