Part-time tutor at Explore Learning Whiteley centre. You will support learners aged 4-16, creating and delivering lessons using the Compass learning tool and working within small group ratios to encourage fearless learning.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver customised lessons, empowering members to overcome challenges and progress.
- Build trusting relationships with small groups (up to six) and inspire children to be fearless learners.
- Support members as they progress through the national curriculum, 11 + entrance exam and GCSE preparation, celebrating progress and achievements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for parents and guardians, answering queries and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Lead and inspire peers, supporting them in their duties and answering questions.
- Ensure safeguarding standards, maintaining vigilance for any concerns and keeping children safe.
- You will also be trusted to open and close the centre.
Requirements
- Age 18 or over with the right to work in the UK.
- Grade 6 or above in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).
- Willingness to commit to a long-term role, providing consistency for members.
- Ability to travel to the centre and work a minimum of 6 hours per week across at least two days.
- For additional responsibilities, a 2–3 pm arrival is required.
Compensation
- 18-20 years: £10.90 per hour; 21 + years: £12.75 per hour.
- Extra 50p per hour for work at a centre inside the M25.
- £2 extra per hour for additional responsibilities.
- Paid for all training and inductions.
