Platform Administrator – SC Cleared – £425 per day – Inside IR35
Currently on the lookout for a Platform Administrator to support with a Public Sector project. The contract will be 12 months with an occasional trip to to the office which would be once a month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the ServiceNow platform, facilitating custom solution builds to meet project needs.
- Develop, run, and manage Linux shell scripts , focusing on string manipulation and task automation.
- Install, configure, and manage databases such as MySQL or MariaDB .
- Perform software packaging/unpackaging, and handle secure setups using SSL certificates , Java Keystore , and LDAP/SSO brokers (e.g., Keycloak).
- Support backup and restore processes, leveraging shell scripts to ensure seamless recoverability.
- Provision compute resources in cloud environments (AWS or Azure ) and manage infrastructure processes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues independently and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
- Maintain a deep understanding of system infrastructure and act as a key point of contact for platform stability.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong expertise in Linux administration and scripting (e.g., Bash, Shell).
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or Azure ), including provisioning and management of compute resources.
- Familiarity with database installation and management (e.g., MySQL, MariaDB).
- Proficiency with backup processes and understanding shell script-based recovery systems.
- Hands-on experience with SSL certificate management , Java Keystore , and configuration of LDAP/SSO brokers .
- Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in ServiceNow application development .
- Familiarity with infrastructure processes and the ability to grow into supporting broader system architecture.
