We're working with a venture backed technology company that is building software to solve complex challenges within the natural resources sector. Following recent funding and growing customer demand, they are looking to hire a Full Stack Engineer to help scale their platform and engineering capabilities. This is an opportunity to join a small, high performing team where you'll have significant ownership over technical decisions, architecture, and product development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the systems that power the company's platform, with a particular focus on backend development, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines
- Developing backend services and APIs that support customer facing applications
- Managing and improving cloud infrastructure, primarily within Azure
- Contributing to frontend development when required using React and TypeScript
- Working closely with data scientists and product teams to bring new functionality into production
- Driving improvements to engineering processes, architecture, and deployment workflows
- Taking ownership of projects from concept through to deployment
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production software systems
- Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Python
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
- Understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, and distributed systems
- Experience working with data intensive applications and pipelines
- Ability to work across the full stack when required, including React and TypeScript
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast moving startup environment
- Proactive mindset with a desire to improve systems, processes, and products
- Experience building and deploying ML or AI enabled products
- Exposure to geospatial data, scientific computing, or similar technical domains
- Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience
- Experience working within venture backed startups or scale ups
