Overview

As a Defence Marine Commissioning Engineer, specializing in mechanical, fluid systems, HVAC, or electrical systems, you will drive the commissioning, testing, and validation of critical systems on naval and defense vessels. You will ensure that all relevant systems meet specified operational and safety standards. This role demands a strong understanding of marine systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, construction, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of mechanical, fluid, HVAC, or electrical systems on defense marine vessels.
  • Perform detailed testing and validation to ensure all systems meet required performance and safety standards, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Analyze system performance and optimize operational efficiency during the commissioning phase.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning and test reports, technical documentation, and performance records for stakeholders.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues that arise during testing or operation. Implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with standards and operational requirements.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with marine and defense industry standards, including safety regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams, construction teams, and operations to ensure smooth handover and integration of systems.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients during the commissioning phase, providing clear communication on progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Support training for operational staff on the proper use, maintenance, and operation of commissioned systems.
  • Conduct inspections and quality control assessments to ensure systems meet all applicable standards, including military and naval specifications.
  • Provide feedback on design and construction processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of marine systems for future projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in relevant fields such as HVAC, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, or marine engineering are a plus.
