We are seeking an Automotive Diagnostics Integration & Test Engineer to support the integration, validation, and delivery of automotive diagnostics systems across vehicle programmes. This role focuses on system-level diagnostics validation, supported by component-level testing where required, ensuring robust diagnostic coverage and high delivery quality. The successful candidate will work closely with integration, automation, manufacturing, and diagnostics engineering teams, providing clear, data-driven insight to support engineering decisions and continuous improvement across vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support the integration and validation of automotive diagnostics systems across vehicle programmes.
- Execute system-level diagnostics tests and component-level diagnostics tests as required.
- Author, review, and maintain diagnostics test cases in line with programme requirements.
- Contribute to diagnostics test automation activities to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Analyse test results, identify issues, and provide clear, actionable data to support engineering decision-making.
- Log, track, and support the resolution of diagnostics-related issues through to closure.
- Collaborate with integration, automation, manufacturing, and diagnostics teams to ensure consistent delivery quality.
- Support continuous improvement of diagnostics validation processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Ensure diagnostics testing aligns with industry standards and internal delivery processes.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant training or certifications in automotive diagnostics, testing, or validation are advantageous.
Essential skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics standards, including UDS, transport protocols, and calibration standards.
- Proven experience in diagnostics testing, test authoring, and test execution.
- Experience contributing to test automation activities.
- Understanding of automotive validation processes and the use of industry-standard tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Desired skills
- Software or system-level validation experience.
- Familiarity with ODX/OTX diagnostic data and test formats.
- Background working with vehicle systems or automotive diagnostics tools.
- Awareness of JLR delivery processes or similar OEM development frameworks.
