As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are currently looking for a Critical Transport Lead UK to be based on site at our customer's facility in Stevenage, though Portsmouth can be offered as an alternate office. This is a contract role deemed to be inside IR35, the rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority etc.
Responsibilities
- Preparation, specification and coordination of critical transports (shipment of satellites to launch site or test site, and of main sub-assemblies between Airbus sites) in close cooperation with satellite's project teams, Transport teams and relevant transport suppliers.
- Generic management of waivers for transport of dangerous goods, compliance to known consignor processes for air transports and transnational coordination with other Airbus D&S production sites.
- On-time, on-quality and on-cost critical transport deliveries as they are essential for production performance and for satellites' launch as per customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Project Management qualification or certification.
- Experience in maritime, automotive, aerospace sectors.
Essential skills
- 'Industrial' / 'Delivery' / 'Planning' / 'Project Manager' skillsets will meet the requirements.
- You must be capable of proactively coordinating people and information flow to enable streamlined transport from an AIT perspective.
- Must show knowledge of good logical planning characteristics and have an understanding of Gantt charts and their application.
- Able to work in high pressure environments.
- Able to prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, confident to communicate and able to assert influence in a multi-functional environment.
- They will need to be flexible, adaptable, able to apply a logical approach to problems and have an ‘eye for detail’.
Experience
- Experience in Manufacturing scheduling.
