Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are looking for several AIT Test Operations Engineers. The role will be based at our customer’s facility in Portsmouth and will involve shift work for which a premium will be paid. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.
The job holder will be engaged in a wide variety of AIT test operations/activities covering all areas of testing. This is an area of significant growth within Expleo, where we are looking at growing future team leads from within. Engineers with energy and drive with broad expertise are ideal, however, candidates with space, aerospace or military experience are of particular interest.

ResponsibilitiesTest Engineering:
- Utilise procedures as an input into the testing process
- Validate and prepare Test Aid & test Harness IAW work instruction, definition files and use as an input into the testing process
- Become familiar with customer Electrical Ground Support Equipment documentation
- Be aware of COSHH and Risk Assessment documentation that support the testing regime
- Awareness of hazardous voltages and high-power RF testing
Tasks: Using customer procedures, perform the following:
- Execution and monitoring test scripts using fully automated test equipment
- Installation and configuration of validation of test means
- Installation and calibration of test set-up
- Under guidance of the test lead, support for first level troubleshooting on test benches and tools
- Call to technical support when the nominal sequence of test operations cannot be followed
- Disconnection, removal and storage of test fixtures
- Backup of test results and measurement data
- Procedures completed and filled IAW customer requirements
HNC or HND in engineering/maintenance OR Apprenticeship in Aerospace/Space or other high-quality production field
Desired skills- Experience working in a high-quality production environment relating to electrical/RF test (for example, the use of oscilloscopes, network analysers and other basic test equipment)
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment including knowledge of FOD/ESD practices
- General knowledge of Space systems, electrical engineering, Power subsystem, validation and verification
- Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the clients Portsmouth site 5 days per week
- Ability/willingness to support shift working (two shifts 06:00-14:00 & 14:00-22:00) for which a shift premium is payable
