Expleo require an Analysis Engineer to support stress analysis of aerostructures. The candidate is required to be capable, flexible, and to be able to work independently to assess both composite and metallic design solutions using a variety of classical stress methods and finite element analysis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of stress analysis on both composite and metallic structures including general strength analysis, stiffness assessments, buckling and stability strength, fastener and joint strength, standard composite strength analysis of both sandwich and thermoset composite panels, composite damage tolerance analysis of open hole strength and compression-after-impact strength.
- Have a good understanding of structural design (e.g. Wingbox) including understanding load and stiffness requirements, design of load interfaces such as flap and moveable surfaces and wingbox to fuselage connections.
- Perform finite element analysis using recognized toolsets (such as Nastran/Patran, Simcenter 3D). Candidate should be capable of creating, modifying, and post-processing results from FEM models.
- Generate stress documentation including reserve factor summaries, detailed stress justifications, and certification reports.
- Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision and guide other engineers within the work package as required.
- Identify, analyse and resolve technical problems and apply/integrate solutions.
- Develop, execute, and verify methods plans, toolsets and approaches that are appropriate and compliant to achieve the design and programme objectives.
- Identify and assess technical risk and propose mitigations relevant to the work package within assigned programmes/projects.
- Interpret and process design data including interfaces, dimensions, materials, parts, manufacturing process requirements, assemblies, and tolerances as part of the stress analysis of components.
- Deliver assigned project deliverables, documents, and reports to the required quality standards and within the assigned project target milestones.
- Work within a team environment both locally and remotely.
- Support and participate in technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews, including the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of a work package.
- Support the qualification process of products within a work package, and prepare and/or check compliance documentation to internal, customer, and regulatory requirements, where applicable.
