Responsibilities
- Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
- Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
- Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
- Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
- Perform self-verification of work.
- Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
- Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.
- Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
Qualifications
- The candidate is required to hold an NC / HNC or an equivalent qualification / experience in relatable discipline subject.
- Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
Essential skills
- Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric / spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
- Able to work to Engineering Design Standards.
Desired skills
- Preferable T26 Experience.
- FORAN.
- Windchill.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding / ship repair terminology and practices.
Experience
- Experience in Design processes and procedures specifically within detail design.
- Working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects / alternatively new build or major conversion packages).
- Experience in Electrical Design, Cable Routing.
- Relevant experience from other industries including, but not limited to, Oil & Gas, Process, Manufacturing, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Civil and Automotive.
