We are seeking a Production Planner to join our clientβs Project Management Office (PMO) at their Belfast site. This is an exciting role, offering a negotiable rate based on experience and seniority.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of project planning services, contributing to the successful delivery of complex outputs in support of a UK Marine programme. The Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising production plans to meet customer demand while balancing capacity, materials, and inventory constraints. The role requires advanced use of ERP systems to ensure accurate planning, scheduling, and reporting across manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain detailed production plans aligned with sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to maximise efficiency and service levels
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans to respond to changes in demand, capacity, or material availability
- Ensure optimal use of labour, equipment, and resources
- Use ERP systems as the primary planning and control tool for production, materials, and capacity planning
- Maintain accurate master data (BOMs, routings, lead times, calendars)
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage material availability and delivery schedules
- Performance measurement (including Earned value management)
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline
- Typically requires an undergraduate degree and broad experience or equivalent
- Proven experience in a Production Planning or Supply Chain Planning role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience using ERP systems for production planning and MRP
- Experience managing complex production schedules and multi-level BOMs
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and sales
- SAP APM PPC Foundation
- APM PFQ Experience
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience in engineering or project management environments
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain the desired security clearance for this role.
