Mechanical Design Engineer in Belfast

We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineers to be based at our customers (Defence) Belfast UK office. A hybrid working arrangement of 3 days onsite per week and 2 days working from home is acceptable. Rates are negotiable and dependent upon experience. The role is outside IR35.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, integrate and implement technical solutions for some of our high-profile programmes of work.
• Ensure designs are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory requirements and internal standards within the programme, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.
• Share responsibility in the design of components, identifying technical problems and creating technical solutions.
• Be part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Work on the integration of all requirements and input from other engineering disciplines to the detailed design, achieving a cost-efficient and producible design.

Essential skills:

• A good understanding of engineering theory and principles.
• Able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision while also being able to work collectively as part of a group.
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and to project gateway requirements.
• A high level of problem-solving capability and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A good understanding of Office Packages, particularly Excel for data recording, manipulating analytical reports and documentation.
• A keenness towards analytical data interpretation and reviewing numerical information.

• CAD - CATIA V5 & CREO
• Enovia experience
• Palma PLM Experience
