We are currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Management Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, supporting one of our key automotive clients. This role will be based in the Midlands (Gaydon and/or Whitley), with a hybrid working model.
About the Role
As a Supplier Quality Management Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, organising, and reporting on supplier-provided raw materials, manufactured goods, and packaging, ensuring all meet or exceed defined quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and validate that suppliers and subcontractors are aligned with engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
- Monitor quality control systems and activities at supplier/subcontractor facilities.
- Ensure robust programs are in place to improve supplier performance and productivity.
- Review and analyse corrective action reports, helping to eliminate defects and investigate quality issues.
- Lead large-scale projects with minimal oversight, contributing as a subject matter expert.
- Support and coach junior professionals within the quality function.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in Supplier Quality Management, ideally within the automotive sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to quality improvements.
- Willingness to travel across the UK (mainly Midlands); a valid UK driving license is required.
- Must have the right to work in the UK - sponsorship is not available for this role.
