As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are currently looking for a Production Scheduler to be based on site at our customer's facility in Stevenage. This is a contract role deemed to be inside IR35, the rate is negotiable based on experience and seniority.
As a Project Scheduler Team Lead you will work on satellite systems within the Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) group, supporting the team with the collation and processing of data for schedule updates (into and out of AIT) and assisting with the creation of production schedules for every project undertaken in the AIT facilities, illustrating status, risks and resource constraints.
Responsibilities- Input into and maintain production schedules, with assistance of the Production Control Manager.
- Maintain the live status of products in the AIT production flows with assistance of area team leaders and managers.
- Contribute to data collection and assist with weekly capacity reviews.
- Optimise factory resources and recognise and address bottleneck resources and capacity constraints.
- Continuously monitor the planning database to ensure reliable and realistic information is used for developing schedules.
- Carry out schedule analysis to maximise future workload with external divisions and the AIT Business Manager.
- Issue documentation in accordance with the weekly reporting cycle (e.g., work to lists).
- Assist with monitoring drawing release activity and adherence to production schedules.
- Continuously develop the production scheduling tool and AIT processes, whilst networking with personnel throughout the AIT and Stevenage organisations.
- Project Management qualification or certification.
- Experience in maritime, automotive and aerospace sectors.
- Knowledge of logical planning characteristics and understanding of Gantt charts.
- Advanced experience in manufacturing scheduling.
- Able to work in high-pressure environments and prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, confident communication and ability to assert influence in a multi-functional environment.
- Flexibility, adaptability, logical approach to problems and an eye for detail.
- Manufacturing systems degree or other relevant qualification.
- Ability to read and understand Bill of Materials (BoM).
- Experience using scheduling tool Primavera P6.
- Experience operating an MRPI, MRPII, ERP or ideally SAP within a manufacturing environment.
- Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to achieve UK MoD security clearance.
