We are currently supporting a leading client in the automotive sector and are looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join the team on-site with a global automotive manufacturer based in Cheshire. This position is available on either a permanent or contract basis.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and track the installation progress across key milestones.
- Act as the main point of contact between the OEM, suppliers, and internal teams for General Assembly.
- Join meetings focused on solving problems and analysing faults.
- Lead testing activities during adjustment phases.
- Create reports after each system modification and restart.
- Provide weekly updates on supplier progress and project deadlines.
- Schedule and validate specification approvals, including product-process alignment.
- Review and compare technical and financial supplier proposals.
- Oversee supplier approval, production launch, safety checks, and final equipment acceptance.
Skills and experience required:
- Knowledge and experience of automotive process engineering.
- Experience of design and install of manufacturing equipment.
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Project Management.
- Strong cross functional team leadership skills.
- Able to work autonomously, with a hands-on approach.
- Experience of and a good working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of CAD systems is an advantage.
