We\’re seeking an experienced LV EDS PMST Lead Engineer to join our customer in Dunton. This is a pivotal role requiring leadership, problem-solving, and technical expertise in EDS (Electrical Distribution Systems) design and launch activities. The candidate must be flexible to travel for business to Turkey and Morocco and possess the right to work in the UK.
Working Arrangements:
- 2 days in-office (Dunton) and 3 days working from home.
- Full 5 days in-office presence required during escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the LV EDS program team and Full-Service Supplier.
- Organize and chair regular PMST team meetings to address and close outstanding issues.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution across various departments (VHM 1/2/3/4).
- Utilize Ford GPDS systems to manage program timing and achieve milestone approvals.
- Oversee DV activities and ensure compliance with design rules and system specifications.
- Prepare design rule deviation documents for management approval when necessary.
- Manage WERS concern releases, ensuring approvals from finance, manufacturing, and related teams.
- Validate and track PPAP and Pedigree status for released wire harness parts.
- Oversee cost and financial status of EDS components to minimize vehicle cost impact.
- Support supplier onsite visits, including events and pre-production activities.
- Launch support and onsite issue resolution reporting.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies like G8D and 3-legged 5 Whys.
- Knowledge of 2D wire harness drawings, WERS usage coding, and EDS design.
- Familiarity with drafting tools such as CapXC, Zuken, and Integrator processes.
- Hands-on experience with Ford Releasing System (WERS) and Team Centre.
- Competence in EDS BoM validation and electrical/mechanical design decision-making.
Skills Preferred:
- Excel VBA programming expertise.
Experience Required:
- Significant EDS design and launch experience, including routing and packaging.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations while away from the home base.
- Skilled in reworking wire harnesses and connectors.
- Experience with diagnostic tools like multimeters and Pico Scopes.
- Creation of robust change control documentation to avoid errors.
