This Reliability Engineering vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation. The job holder will be engaged in a wide variety of Systems Engineering activities covering the entire engineering lifecycle. Specific experience in FMEA and FMECA.

Responsibilities

  • As a reliability support engineer, the role may include but is not limited to activities centred on reliability analysis whilst working alongside and in support of design teams.
  • Reliability analysis (typically predictions, FMECA and Critical Items Lists).
  • Reliability-based hazard analysis.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Development of reliability programmes.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in an engineering or technical subject. A lower qualification would be acceptable, for example HNC/HND, should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu.

Essential Skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to modify the message to pitch at all levels of the organisation.
  • A thorough and methodical approach to work with high quality and accuracy.
  • The ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • The ability to interpret and produce technical documentation, such as SOR, SOW & trade studies.

Desired Skills

  • Part stress reliability prediction using Mil-Hdbk-217 and FIDES (new projects increasingly using FIDES).
  • Understanding of predictions for mechanical items necessary for some equipment.
  • FMECA skills for complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Critical Item List preparation.
  • Use of Windchill.
  • Use of reliability tool sets.

Experience

  • Engineering based experience, including as a reliability engineer. Defence experience would be an advantage.

What Do I Need Before I Apply

  • SC Cleared.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the client site at Stevenage, minimum 3 days per week.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the client site at Filton as required.
