Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are looking for AIT Test Technicians. The role will be based at our customer’s facility in Portsmouth and candidates should be prepared to work shifts when required (for which a premium will be paid) and travel within the UK and exceptionally Europe in support of test campaigns. The successful candidates will be engaged in executing electrical and functional test procedures on engineering test benches and flight spacecraft in accordance with Work Orders, test procedures and processes. Responsibilities include:
- Performing test operations, including integration test execution, test setup installation and connection, validation tests, RF testing, and acceptance tests.
- Installation and calibration of test set-ups.
- Executing tests in accordance with client procedures.
- Supporting first-level troubleshooting on test benches and tools.
- Escalating to technical support when nominal test sequence cannot be followed.
- Disconnecting, removing and storing test fixtures.
- Filling and archiving documentation, backing up test results.
- Operating in an ISO 8 cleanroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an HNC or NVQ Level 4 in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to understand/follow test procedures, payload technical documentation, and EGSE documentation (user manual).
- Ability to perform integration testing and acceptance testing.
- Ability to perform first-level troubleshooting on test benches.
- Strong documentation discipline (archiving, backing up test data).
Desired Skills:
- Ability to perform RF testing.
Experience:
- Experience working in a high-quality production environment relating to electromechanical assembly.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment, including FOD/ESD practices.
- Experience interacting with payload technical documentation, test aids, harness definitions, and EGSE documentation.
What Do I Need Before I Apply:
- Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the client's Portsmouth site 5 days per week.
- Ability and willingness to support the following client repeating shift pattern: 4 days (06:00-18:00) @ x1.2 pay uplift, 4 days off, 4 nights (18:00-06:00) @ x1.33 pay uplift, 4 days off.
- Ability and willingness to travel to and work on other client sites in pursuit of test campaigns.
- Exceptionally, ability and willingness to travel to and work on other client European sites in pursuit of test campaigns.
