As a Principal Structural Marine Engineer , you will carry out detailed Engineering design activities, working closely with cross-functional teams on a range of projects, making sure that complies with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities

  • The Principal Structural Marine Engineer is tasked with authoring, reviewing, and substantiating marine and structural designs through rigorous calculations, simulations, and support during commissioning and diagnostic testing.
  • This role necessitates leading and contributing to product development throughout the design lifecycle, while providing technical support to key customers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of engineering outputs.
  • Additionally, the engineer must serve as a Technical Authority, possessing deep expertise in a specific aspect of marine or structural engineering, and bear technical responsibility for the delivery of engineering outputs.

Qualifications

  • Ideally degree qualified but HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline with extensive experience in relevant field will be considered;
  • Be a member of a relevant institution (e.g. RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc.);
  • Either already UK Security cleared or able for achieve UK SC clearance.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in ship scantling
  • Familiarity with DNV Rules for ships

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Shock and Ansys is desirable but not essential
