We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer. Due to the growing demand in our Marine team, we need an Engineer with wide experience within the Marine Structures domain. They will lead the way in methods, toolsets and best practice. They will be involved in multiple projects across a wide array of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with UK based Team to understand technical issues / specifications and requirements
  • Undertaking Finite Element Analysis Simulations of marine structure
  • Work with the customer to determine solutions for failed simulations
  • Approving Analysis reports
  • Producing quality while keeping within project budgets & time constraints and potentially changing requirements
  • Apply correct processes, specifications procedures & techniques working with support from specialist teams
  • Setting best practice

Qualifications

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline.

  • Ansys CAE software
  • Staad/Pro CAE software
  • Shock analysis
  • Quasi-static analysis
  • Analysis using hand calcs, in Mathcad or Excel
  • Analysis of the following Marine structures:
  • Hull & Structural Members
  • Plating & Stiffening
  • Bulkheads & Internal Structures
  • Structural Reinforcement & Connections
  • Leading diverse teams
  • Mentoring developing engineers
  • Managing Stakeholders

    • Deep knowledge of structures, design and project delivery.
    • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, manage multiple projects, and drive results
