We are seeking an experienced and motivated Outfit Design Discipline Lead to take ownership of the technical area.
As a senior figure within the team, you will lead the development, training, and quality management of the discipline, ensuring consistent delivery of high standards across all projects.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the technical discipline, acting as the go-to expert for Outfit.
- Drive training and capability development within the team, fostering a strong learning culture.
- Implement and uphold discipline-specific quality standards, tools, and best practices.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to engineers and designers to support professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure effective integration of discipline-specific inputs.
- Act as a key technical interface with clients, providing support and assurance across projects.
- Contribute to resource planning, recruitment, and succession within the discipline.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, STEM, or equivalent professional qualification/experience.
Essential Skills
- Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Class & Flag Requirements
- Strong technical background in marine engineering with a focus on Outfitting.
- Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing others.
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Experience
- Experience in Design working / leading on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages) or similar, preferably T26.
