Are you passionate about automotive innovation? We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Team Leader to join a forward-thinking team. If you thrive on solving complex engineering challenges and driving technological advancements, this opportunity is for you!
The role will include managing a small team of Mechanical Engineers, leading internal and external facing projects and contributing to the mechanical design and development of mechanical systems ranging from housings, rigs and mounting systems through to full vehicle propulsion systems incorporating high voltage batteries, control and distribution.
Responsibilities include:
- Team and Project management for all aspects of mechanical design and development projects
- Design of various systems from simple housings to complex assemblies as well as one-off systems such as build tooling, test rigs etc.
- Stress and thermal analysis of designs.
- Knowledge of designing for ease of manufacture and cost optimisation.
- Design model management
- Design drawing prepare and release
- Supplier identification and management
- Support build and test of designs
- Documentation of all steps in the process
Skills Required:
- Team and project management including personnel development
- CAD: CATIA, Solid Works (SW preferred)
- PLM systems
- Mechanical stress and thermal modelling
- Design of high voltage power distribution and battery systems
- Design of liquid, phase change and air based cooling systems
- Project documentation and reporting
- Data acquisition and analysis
- Good experience of PC applications Word, Excel, Visio, Project etc.
- Experience in design of electric vehicle systems, control and software would be beneficial.
