One of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Assembly Process Engineer to help them develop unique and innovative automotive products. The purpose of this role will be to focus on the designing, developing, and implementing of new or revised processes for assembling the component parts and subassemblies required for a finished product. Based in Solihull, you will be supporting a dedicated and enthusiastic team on a contract basis.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Assembly Process Engineer include:
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and build‑feasibility principles.
- Develop manufacturing build strategies, processes, and supporting tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Ensure process capability and dimensional management across all equipment and operations.
- Lead manufacturing quality planning and analysis.
- Deliver against Integrated Production System requirements.
- Manage and escalate technical issues as needed.
- Support virtual and physical build events at Solihull and Coventry sites, managing issues as they arise.
- Develop system logic for lineside equipment.
Qualifications and skills required for the Manufacturing Assembly Process Engineer position:
- Experience in manufacturing/engineering processes, tools, and techniques, with a track record of meeting productivity targets.
- Strong logical problem‑solving skills and a results‑driven approach.
- Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and deliver in a high‑pressure environment.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to convey complex ideas.
- Collaborative team player with a flexible approach to responsibilities and working hours.
- Knowledge of product development processes, IPS requirements, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ideally degree‑qualified in Manufacturing or a related engineering discipline.
